Had a lovely night! My cake went down a treat. Oh man was it taaasty =) Got to see lots of friends and make a few new ones. Wasn't so up for it but home now and super glad I went. It's always worth it to see a few old favourites.

Sadly there wasn't fish and chips but pizza instead. But cake. Oh cake.

Ick!

Argh I am SICK of being ill. =(
Spent the whole day with a heavy thick head and sickly feeling. Thankfully poets day was poetic enough to warrent Heather deciding we should go home early. Yey. 4 o'clock finish.

RP was off because our GM randomly had to go to Manchester - YAY. Was totally not in the mood. Instead I spent the evening cake making for tomorrow's 30th. My problem with the friend who hasn't been so friendly lately is solved with her not being able to make it to Leeds for her own birthday bash. I feel bad for her but at the same time it's some weight off because even if I feel half better by tomorrow I'm not going to be in the mood for niceties with fickle people anymore than I am currently in the mood for the noisy-ass drunken neighbours outside my window right now. I hope it rains on them so they go inside.

I made a chocolate orange cake. It's not orangey enough but it's still tasty - I know this because I made mini versions with the left overs. Sadly the main-event is too warm to frost so I have to wait until it is. I'm tired and it's like waiting for paint to dry. Or to die. Not sure. I want to try and find something dragony to put on it tomorrow.

Susie has decided that on our weekend sojourn up to Scotland we are going to Club Noir. A burlesque night in Glasgow. Sounds like a laugh and I'm looking forward to it - just scuppered for outfit ideas. The theme is 'American Dream'. Nice and wide and I have enough bits to cobble together several different outfits with only some additions in the way of accesories. I'm torn between a Playgirl bunny with ears picked up cheap coupled with my flesh coloured fishnets, patent kitten heels in black and my gorgeous black corset. (Need to be brave feeling for this one because of the short skirt/boobs out involved in this one).

Good old country/western girl with boots, my little polkadot tea dress, straw hat and neckerchief - never more have I had an excuse to buy the cowboy boots I always wanted but I'd want a pair that last more than a month and don't have the money to spend on them right now.

OR if I can find a pair of little cute red shoes (something I've also had a hankering for for YONKS) and a cheap white Tee I can totally manage a Dorothy from Wizard of Oz.

So my options are many and largely depend on what I find in the sales tomorrow.

I'm holding my breath for the shoes. Oh shoes. How long it has been since I bought some.

So the weekend was in all respects made of awesome =)

Saturday saw some begruding shopping for bits for Larping next weekend but that was relatively quickly and painlessly over. Then Waz and I headed to Han's for BBQ good times. Company was good. Mood was relaxed. Food was tasty. Oh and there were toasted marshmallows and homebrew ale. All very good things. Hannah and Guy are always excellent hosts! Chilled out fun times.

Then I headed home and glammed up for Wendyhouse - our local goth night. The outfit I had planned to wear turned into a no no when the skirt I had picked turned out to be way too big for me at the moment so I had to run around like a mad thing to find something I wanted to wear. Not through lack of options but through my being fussy.

All prettified as best as I can manage I ventured up to the student union whereupon I saw lots of friends, particularly [livejournal.com profile] klena  and [livejournal.com profile] raineonthebrain who don't come out to play very much ^-^ I danced my butt off but avoided being trolleyed (...gazeboed) and so avoided hung over Sunday mornings. More fun had.

Sunday we ran over to the bunk barn we're hiring for our annual reunion - though people are being a bit slack this year so be prepared to hear lots of whining about my friends being rubbish in the lead up to this thing. It's in October, I'll try not to start early. But it is also the place that we met. We I mean Waz and I of course. It was somehow Fitting and Right to end up in the place that we met on the 10th anniversary of his wife's death. Her name was Alex, by the way. We somehow avoided all the gloom in the sunshine and instead I think Waz remembered her fondly, thoughtfully and happily. I hope so, anyway. Hardly any tears at least.

Oh and there was totally a pit stop in an amazing cafe that was only called 'Ye Olde Naked Man Cafe'  with one of the best milkshakes I've had in years. Ho ho ho.

This early part of the week has been brought to you by having many things to do and not enough time to do them. Tomorrow I have to bake epic amounts of cake, finish the washing, ensure everything is packed and prepped and ready to go and sadly Mothers Meeting is forfeit this week. It means I can also have a nice early night, enjoying the comfort of my own bed and not sleeping under canvas peacefully, for the last time for 4 nights. I like camping, I do, but even our extremely awesome airbed does not compare to Real Bed.

Right, now to go and see if my chocolate truffles are ready to shape and dust. =D Mmm..truffles.

Oh and my video this time is not music, but something that just keeps tickling me.

Well... That was a weekend and a half! My best  friend is going through some serious family matters and drama at the moment and to make things worse her beloved cat died yesterday so I'm really feeling for her right now. My heart goes out to her, truly.

Otherwise I spent the weekend cleaning and tidying the house. It is now back in a state where I feel happy having people over, as opposed to slightly ashamed.... AND we finally have a mop. It's sad that it took us this long to remember to bring one home whilst shopping. I put it to good use and the kichen floor is now clean.

I also baked flapjacks of the cherry and chocolate variety. Don't know how they taste yet as I baked them late last night and left them overnight to cool down. I have one here with me for lunch today.

Currently I am very much enjoying Prof. Brian Cox's TV programs. He's like the David Attenborough of physics. Last night we watched Wonders of the Universe and I was soothed by the profound physics debate on 'The Arrow of Time'..learnt what entropy means in a physics sense and cooed over the pretty pictures. I recommend any show with him in it highly for he is strangely relaxing and compelling to listen to in his nerdy way.

On another note I have a banging headache coming on and have not gotten anywhere with my crochet over the weekend so now must do 3 or 4 squares tonight in order to keep on schedule.

Meh.
